Carl Massaro

Carl Massaro is the owner and head instructor at Renzo Gracie Northern Valley, a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) academy. Assuming this position in 2008, Carl Massaro has served as Georges St-Pierre’s training partner for several of his MMA bouts. He is also a training partner for many BJJ and MMA champions.

Carl Massaro has provided invaluable training and support to many athletes who have gone on to achieve championship status in their respective arenas. His presence in these camps demonstrates a trusted expertise that both seasoned professionals and up-and-coming fighters seek.

Outside of martial arts, Mr. Massaro has cultivated a unique set of personal interests that reflect his appreciation for craftsmanship and history. He is an avid blacksmith, knife maker, and collector of antique swords. He is also actively involved in the restoration and dealing of historic blades. This rare combination of martial arts practice and historical craftsmanship illustrates his respect for tradition and his dedication to preserving artistry across multiple disciplines.
